Mrs. Dale Mc Daniels, Rhonda and Rory and Rhonda’s friend John Vanveil of Vale were Sun day dinner guests of Mrs. Mc Daniels parents, the HarleySa- gers. Kyle Sager and fmlly of John Day, Oregon visited his parents, the Harley SagersSun- day afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. John Otto and two children of Nampa visited his mother Mrs. Alden Bryan Sunday. Allen Balard of Kaslo, B.C. came Wednesday morning to get his wife Mary who has been staying with her mother Mrs. Luc y Evans and helping to care for her. They left Thursday to return home. NU ACRES - Mr. and Mrs. Bill Newell from Nampa and their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Burch from Ar- kansc« were Saturday visitors of the Hen Paynes. Mrs. John Stam, Mrs. John Craner and Mrs. Ben Payne attended the Town and Country Garden Club Thursday after noon at the home of Mrs. A. Chadwick in Nyssa. Mrs. Dale Adams gave the lesson on bed ding plants. Mrs. Frank Johnson has been moved from the Nyssa Hospital on Saturday to a Nampa Hospi tal for further treatment of a broken hip. Mrs. Robert Shaw,Sr. visited her sister Mrs. Rav Winters and daughter Christine in On tario Friday afternoon. Kandy Wintersandhis friends BOB OKANO, 1967 NYSSA HIGH SCHOOl GRADUATE, is pursuing a construction career following completion of the Construction Technology program at Oregon State University. The Construction I ngine.rlng program was initiated in 1966 with the aid of a $50,000 grant from the Oregon-Columbia Chapter of the Associated General Contractors. Many members of the four classes that have been graduated thus far are now employed by Northwest construction firms. Okano is employed by H.A. Andersen Company, Portland, and is currently project engineer for a Fred Meyer shopping center at Hazel Dell, Washington, north of Vancouver. van, Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Smalley visited Friday afternoon in the William Anders home of Lake Low« 11. Mr. and Mrs. Fay Collins spent last weekend in Boise visiting with Mrs. Ella Fralsler. Tami Cahill of Boise Is spending her spring and Easter vacation this week with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Fay Collins. Mrs. Roy Rookstool accom panied Edna Strait and Dora Wagner of Parma to the Royal Neighbor Lodge Convention held on Saturday at Homedale, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Seward and Jennie Seward were over night Sunday and Monday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Morrett and Kate Morrett at BentonCity, Washington last week JOB'S DAUGHTERS , ACTIVITIES Mrs. Arlene SewardandMrs. Hoshaw visited Thursday with Mrs. Paul Nopens at Nyssa Hos pital. Mrs. Nopens had major surgery on Tuesday and was able to come home on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Seward and Mr. and Mrs. Burton Smith of Ontario attended church in Boise Sunday evening when Kim berlee Pierce became a church memtier. They were guests in the Hugh Pierce home after wards. Gary Seward. Chad Nielsen, Barbara Huitz and Gretchen Slinker were partic ipants in the Youth Legislature in Boise last week. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Se ward drove up Friday and lis tened in on one of the sessions. Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Smalley visited in Midvale on Wednes day with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ray and also drove up to Ross Reservoir. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dibble and family of Cambridge were Saturttay evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Dibble. Sue Ditible visited Friday eve ning with her college room mate and husband who live at Eagle Point, Oregon and were in Caldwell for a church meet ing. She had not seen her room mate since College Days at Oklahoma City. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Alloway and sons of Nampa were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Dibble. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Key of Oregon City were Tuesday overnight and W ednesday guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Griffin. Mrs. Ed Sells visited Friday afternoon with Mrs. Luella Bre- neman at Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sells at tended a Wedding Shower Sun day afternoon in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hawkins at Nampa for Ed Hawkins and Caroline Davis who will be mar ried soon. Page Five Mrs. Sherman Keck has brought her mother home from the Nyssa Hospital and is car ing for her at this time. Mrs. Charles Caward from Nampa and her friend Mrs. Churchill from Kellogg, Idaho came to visit her mother, Mrs. Lucy Evans at the Sherman Keck home Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Calvin Conner visited Mrs. Robert Shaw, Sr. F riday morning. Mr. and Mrs. M.A Jones went to the Senior Citizens dinner at Payette Friday eve ning. It was for all the Senior Citizens of the area towns. Each brought the food. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hems worth had the misfortune of losing their mobile home in a fire this last week. The community is planning a benefit dance for them in the near future. Nyssa FFA Chapter placed second in the Snake River Dis trict Slioj» skills contest .It til.- Treasure Valley Community College on April 12, 1973, which hel|H>d the Nyssa Chapter to win the District Sweepstakes Tro phy, a trophy that is given to the FFA Chapter that has sco red the highest in ail of the contests in which they have participated. The Baker Chapter took first place; Nyssa, second. Adrian third, Ontario fourth fifth in the District and Vale Skills Contest. In the Advanced Shop Skills Contest, Baker, first, Nyssa, second with a team consisting of Mike Fitzsimmons, Bill Hol mes, Gotno Martinez, David Robbins and Reed Young. The Vale Chapter took third place, Adrian fourth, and Ontario en ded up with fifth place.
