Huckleberry, Daisies Decorate (bureli at Fangen—Hansen Wedding Jacksons A Friends Rw^Hometown News Enjoy Travels In Motor Home Call 372-2233 Messers, and Mmes. Wilton Jackson, Tom Moore and Bob Wilson, vacationed from Friday through Sunday in theJackson’s motor home. The group were luncheon guests Friday afternoon of the Tom Stenkamps of Prineville, at Sunriver Resort 15 miles south of Bend. Following the luncheon, the men played golf and the women enjoyed sight seeing. Saturday morning they had breakfast with a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dave (Marcia)Wim mer and Tami of Springfield, Oregon. That afternoon, they at tended the Oregon State-UCLA game at Corvallis, in which they saw Mark Harmon play. He is the son of Tom Harmon. Satur day evening, they had dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hol man in Albany. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rainey. The couples had a running bridg' tournament during their travels in the motor home. Win ning money for high score was Mrs. Bob Wilson. Bob Wilson took second high, winning green stamps. Receiving low score was Tom Moore. For his prize, he had the honor of cleaning the bus. «X---------- ....................—M X 1 IK Mrs. Bob Wilson visited from October 6-9 with daughters Mr. and Mrs. Dick (Judy) Martin and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ray (Linda) Erland in Portland. While there she visited Mrs. Dave Pahl and family. Mrs. Pahl is the former joy Gay Roth of Nyssa Enroute home, Mrs. Wilson visited another daughter Marilee Wilson who is a student at EOC in La Grande. ♦ • ♦ Mr. and Mrs. Frank Byers had a surprise birthday party for John Sommars of Caldwell Tuesday. October 10. Guests at tending the party were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stevens and Pam, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hicks, Jayme and Kerri, Mmes. Ethel Lay, Frances Kratzberg, Edith Hei ser and Cynthia Gilbert; Mr. and Mrs. James D. Fuqua. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Bethel and Jon Jon, Mrs. Vera Prickett and Judy Sommars all of Caldwell. There will be dancing from 9; 30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., admis sion will be $1 per person. Eagle members and out-of- town guests only. BRIDGE ACTIVITIES Debra Jean Fangen became the bride of William J. (Guy) Hansen in a double-ring cere mony September 23, 1972 at St. Bridget ’s Catholic Church in Nyssa. The ceremony was solemnized in the presence of 100 guests by the Rev. Robert Simard. The altar was decorated with large brass candelabras and blue tapers amid a garland of buckleberry and white daisies. Organ solo "The Lord’s Prayer” was played by Barbara Fangen, sister of the bride. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Fangen of Nyssa, and Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Hansen of Port Orchard, Washington. Given m marriage by her father the bride wore a princess style gown of heavy satin, fashioned with a high collar and full sheer sleeves. The gown featured a lace trimmed front and the skirt was gathered at the center back falling into a full chapel train. The gown and bridesmaid’s dresses were made by Debra's grandmother, Rose Toombs. Her waist length veil was designed and made by her mother. She carried a cascade design of white roses, blue car nations and babies breath. Christine Norman was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Janet and Janis Takami and Sandy Fangen, sister of the bride, All were attired in street-length dresses of pale aqua polyester, featuring bell sleeves and dark blue cumber bunds. Each wore matching large brim hats featuring cym bidium orchids and daisies to trim the back. They also car ried cascade designs of white daisies and white velvet strea mers. Flower girl was Cherie Toombs, cousin of the bride. Her gown was fashioned identi cal to that of the other atten- dents, she carried a basket of aqua rose petals. Rox Ann and Troy Toombs carried the rice and groomscake, both are cousins of the bride. John Gilmore was bestman. Ushers were Bill and Mike Toombs, cousins of the bride, and Dan Hopkins. Following the wedding a re reception followed in the so cial hall. The cake was topped with white satin bells and the tiers were decorated with white dai sies and blue babies breath. Cutting and serving the cake were Barbara Fangen, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Eugene Claude, aunt of the bride. Mrs. Paul Golnik, sister of the groom, served the punch and Kathy Toombs, cousin of the bride poured coffee. Others assisting with the serving were Mrs. Robert Wilson, Mrs. Don Oldemeyer, Mrs. Arthur Cart wright and Miriam Kunkel. Penny Hopkins attended the guest book, registering gifts was Lee Claude, cousin of the bride, assisting with the gift table were, Cindy and Kathy Claude, and Brenda Moffis. For their trip the bride wore a dress designed and made by her grandmother, of aqua poly ester. After a honeymoon trip to Washington the newlyweds are now at their home south west of Nyssa near Mitchell Butte. Hunters Ball Nyssa Eagles -Mi Sypes in Homedale. Mrs. Ha- roldsen spent one week in the Caldwell Memorial Hospital. She is recuperating at home and reportedly doing fine. Guests last week at th«' home of Mrs. A. H. Keck was her brother A. B. Th«> women had a birth day dinner for Mrs. Keck, who celebrated a birthday anniver sary Tuesday, October 10 and the men went deer hunting. Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Ted Keek and family of Portland arrived to visit his mother, Mrs. A. H. Larson, Sr., was her nephew Col. Ro bert WrayofCorvallis. Accom panying Col. W ray back toCor- vallis was his parents Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Wray. They had been visiting Mrs. Larson. ♦ ♦ ♦ A birthday luncheon was held Monday, Octotier 16 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Mon cur. The occasion was in honor of the birthday anniversaries of their daughters Judy Neilson and Linda Sant, and Mark Mon cur. Guests including the honorees were Mr. and Mrs. Bill (Judy) Neilson, and Mr. and Mrs. Gary (Linda) Sant and family. • * • Mrs. L. O. Oden of Phoenix, Arizona was a visitor last week at the horn«« of her son and dau ghter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Oden. Mrs. Oden took Mrs. L. O. Oden to Pendleton, where they visited th«- Lester Oden’s daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mitchell. Mrs. L. O. Oden then went on to Yakima. Twenty-one members were present for the L30 p.m. pot luck dinner. Commander Joe Moore of Nyssa and President Vivian Laurance of Vale officiated at the business meetings. Mrs. Laurance reported that her husband Walter is home from the hospital and improv ing steadily. They are the brother and sis ters of Buster Talbot. It was the first time all of them had been together since 1958. Their parents are Mr. and Mrs. W R.
