Bowers to the Owyhee cemetery to decorate graves Sunday afternoon. Gnetty Piercy, Dorothy Fox and Bernice Toomb attended the Happy Dozen Card club meeting at the home of Mrs. Dyre Roberts in Big Bend Fri day afternoon. Mr. and Mrs, Louis Cashka and son Bill of San Jose,Calif., ♦■■»■ PHONE 372-2183-«-« stopped by the Willis Conant home Sunday afternoon. They had been on a trip to Kansas and were enroute home. They were all friends when they lived in Kansas 40 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ervin and Kip were Sunday afternoon visi tors in the Willis Conant home. Mr. and Mrs. John Thiel, Jr. and family and his father John Thiel of Boise were Sa- turday evening guests in the Don Fox home. Sunday dinner guests in the Myron Osborn home were Messrs, and Mmes. Forest Wells of Bend; Jim Peters of Ontario; J.r. Kearley of Em mett; Gerald Osborn and fa mily of Big Bend; and Mrs. Mike Smith and baby son. Mike Osborn who is in the Navy in San Diego spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Osborn. Mike is attending welding school now. Mrs. Bill Toomb returned home Monday after spending three weeks with her sister, Jeannette Martin at Clarkston, Washington where her sister had been in the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Phifer, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Freitag of Nyssa and Mrs. Bill Toomb took ice cream and cake to Ed Brandt Friday evening to celebrate his birthday, Mrs. Brandt is still in the hospital in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. W.S. McCling of Albany came Thursday to visit her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Thompson. Mrs. Mc Cling and Mrs. Thompson visited their mother, Mrs. Marie Earp at the nursing home in Nyssa Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Al Goff and boys of Lakeview, Mrs. Anna Long and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Walters of Boise visited Mr. and Mrs. Al Thompson Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Don Thompson and family of Seneca were Sat urday overnight guests of his Thursday, Jun« Ì, 1972 parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hersc hel Thompson. Sunday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Stevens of Black foot and Mrs. Emma Thump- son of Emmett visited in the Al and Herschel Thompson homes. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Begeman visited Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Schafer Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Van De Water and Kent attended the special Olympics in Boise Mon day. Mrs. Van De Water and Kent and Mrs. Horace Chaney and Rosalie attended them Tuesday. Rosalie and Kent each won a Bronze Medal for.- the softball throw. Mr. and Mrs. Noel Tuppeny spent the weekend in Boise at the Motor Coach Jamboree. Mrs. Horace Chaney and Mrs. Jim Chaney accompanied Mrs. Don Kadel of Caldwell to Boise Sunday evening where they at tended a concert at the Ca thedral of the Rockies in which Drew Kadel took part. Local Students To Attend BSC Fifteen partial tuition fee scholarships have been awar ded to incoming freshmen at Boise State College. The an- noucement was made by G.M. Don Miller, director of the VoL cational-Technical Division. In announcing the awards Mil ler said, “Thanks to an ex ceptionally fine effort by stu dents, staff and various com1- munity support on this year’s Hobo March, these scholarships are made available.” The Hobo March is an annual event in * which students “panhandle” on the streets of Boise to raise monies for the scholarship fund. This year’s march gained $4,495. Local students to receive the awards are Nancy Bratton, Nyssa, entering fashion mer chandising; and Gregory Top- liff, Adrian, in auto body.
