Savings Bonds Sales Increase Oregon sales of Series E and I ( H United States Savings Bonds in the month of April were$4,924,• . 596, an increase of $919,419 i over April of 1971. This is the fourth consecutive month that Oregon’s purchases have ex ceeded the sales of the like month in the Award Winning , Year of 1971, stated Thomas ’ . S. Prideaux, State Savings Bonds Chairman. Prideaux feels the stimulated interest in Savings Bonds may be at tributed to the public’s aware ness of the 5 1/2 percent in I terest rate plus the splendid cooperation of Oregon in dustries in promoting Payroll Savings plans in their com- panies. The April sales of $4,924,- 596 boosted Oregon sales for the first four months to $17,- 166,405, representing 43 per cent of the state’s annual goal. Nationally, the picture is equally as attractive. April bond sales exceeded one-half billion dollars for the fourth conse- cutive month; sales for the first four months of 1972 came to $2.142 billion — 17 percent above 1971. The cash value of bonds rose $274 million in April, bringing holdings in excess of $55.9 billion — an all-time high for the Program. ñ wow to the wives It is possible that your "cauewomen” ancestors were more comfortable in the summertime than you are! Caves have a way of staying cool naturally. But not today’s houses! Cheer up. Help is here. Why not have us install clean, quiet Lennox central air condi tioning? The "man of the caue” will love it, too. ... Who knows? He may drag you off to some exotic place for dinner.
