Pag« Three Guard Enlists Five Area Men Captain Lyle Defrees, Com manding Officer of the Ontario National Guard Unit, Troop L (-), 3d Squadron, 163d Armo red Cavalry today announced the enlistment of five area men into the local unit. The five include: SGT Christopher M. Lieurance of Vale, SP4 William D. Ar riola of Westfall, SP4 Scott L. Grasty of Ontario, SP4 Micheál Jones of Ontario, and SP4 Wil liam McLay of rural Vale. The five new members of the On tario guard unit have all ser ved previously in the United States Army, and are now be- ginning a one year enlistment in the guard. Captain Defrees reports that there are still several open ings in the Ontario Unit for area men who may be interested in serving their community, State, and Country. More information can be obtained from First Ser geant Robert Mullins or Ser geant Dennis Butler, National Guard Recruiter. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Ervin of North Bend were Sunday morn ing breakfast guests of his pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ervin. Mrs. Mike (Sandy) Smith was a Sunday dinner guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Osborn. Her husband, Mike, is in the National Guard, and went to San Diego to ship fitters school for twelve weeks. Mrs. Rhode’s daughter, Elizabeth spent Friday and Sa turday nights with her grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gehrke. Mr. and Mrs. Buck Clemens of Burns were Friday overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Her schel Thompson.
