Cast and orchestra mem- ■' bers are furiously preparing for the performances which begin Thursday, April 13. The orchestra this year is a small Combo directed by S'Jan Saito, who also playes piano. Musicians included in the Combo are; Shan Moss, flute; Rod Lewis, drums; Marlene Jamieson, bass; Vicki Coats, vibs and melodica; Jan Saito, piano. The musicians in this group do an excellent job of making the musical run as a complete unit, which is an important but difficult task. Keep in mind that the dates for the performances are April 13, 14 and 18. Tickets are adults $1.50, students, 75? and children 50?. They went sightseeing through Elko Nevada, Arizona, down into Mexicali and San Luis, Old Mexico. Then visited on the way back with Mr. and Mrs. George Geesey at Phoen«. This group of junior high school students are sponsored by a federal program and are Mexican-American dancers. This is an education forthem and entertainment for us. ORANGE ANGEL DESSERT 1 Angel Food Cake, broken into bits 1 pkg. whipped topping mix 1 pt. orange sherbet 3/4 cup boiling water 1 3 oz. pkg. orange jello 1 can mandarin orange slices Dissolve jello in 3/4 cup boiling water. Refrigerate, un til slightly thickened. Fold in the softened sherbet and the whipped topping. Pour over the cake and oranges which have been placed in a 9” x 13” x 2” pan. Serves 10. Social Security Recipients Must Report Incomes Social Security beneficiaries with 1971 earnings in excess of $1680.00 must make their annual report by April 17, ac cording to George L. Fleshman, Social Security manager in La Grande. Fleshman explained that the present retirement test re quires that 1971 earned income must be reported to Social Se curity by April 17 if the fol lowing is true; 1. Social Security checks were received for any month or months of 1971. 2. Total 1971 earnings were over $1680.00. 3. The beneficiary was under age 72 any part of 1971. Do not include income from other pensions, rent, interest, dividends, payments received from sale of property or other investment income. “The $1680 includes only wages, salary, bonuses, etc. earned working, for someone else or net earn ings from self employment if you are in business for your self,” said Fleshman. Anyone who should report but does not have a report card form can secure one by phon ing the La Grande office at 963-4131 or the Ontario office at 889-5005.
