They enjoyed a luncheon at the Eastside Cafe in Ontario with Leona Reeves, Gann’s sister, Mrs. Jenny Grider of Dodge City, Kansas and a daughter, Mrs. Dan (Joye) Norland of Pomeroy, Washington. In the afternoon the Gann’s received guests in their home. Those attending were Mrs. Grider, Leona Reeves, the Gann’s daughter Mrs. Burton (Paulene) Richey of Juntura and her sons, Randy and Lynn Findley of Vale; daughters, Mrs. Walter Looney and sons, Mrs. Dan Norland and sons, Gary and Kaare; Walter Looney and Bob Ziegenbein also attended for a short time taking off from their work. A table decorated with yellow daffodils and graced with a beautifully decorated cake with the same motif, which was especially baked by Mrs. Herman Harris of Pomeroy, Wash. She is the mother of Francis Harris, bride-elect of Rod Norland who is a grandson of the Gann’s. Mrs. Sue Ash craft joined them for lunch and in the afternoon they all vi sited the Pearle Davis home in Homedale. Easter Sunday dinner guests of the K. I. Petersons were Mr. and Mrs. Mervil Hutchin son and girls, Mrs. Marie Moore and Edna Cowling of Adrian. Samba Group Meets Mrs. T. H. Eldredge hosted the Samba Club Friday, March 30 at her home. They left Nyssa March 22 and visited a granddaughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Powell, Tami and Robyn in Scappoose, Oregon for a few days. They then traveled to Tacoma and were house quests of their niece Mr. and Mrs. Bill Allen. While there, they were visited by Sam Mc- Connel’s brother Frank McCon nell and also a nephew Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hattendorf, all of Seattle. * » * Mr. A. H. Keck was a dinner guest Easter Sunday at the home of her daughter Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Goff and family in Nu Acres. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hobson and Libby of Hagerman, Idaho, spent the Easter vacation at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Muri Lancaster. Mrs. Hansen returned home with them for a visit. * » ♦ Nvssa Girl Scouts began March 31, de livering cookie orders they took last month and will continue delivery through April 18, according to Mrs. Don Oldemeyer, chair man. The cookies are to be paid for upon delivery. Selling a box of mint cookies to Mrs. Carl Wade are (from right) Kathy Habur- chak and Amy Sarazin of Troop 683. These girls are leading in cookie sales with Amy I selling 128 boxes and Kathy 86 boxes to date. Mrs. Oldemeyer reports that the troop ordered 600 boxes of cookies withare-order of 150 boxes. Anyone wishing to purchase cookies is asked to contact one of the Girl Scouts. The girls will be selling cookies in front of Michael’s Pharmacy and M & W Market this Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 4 Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hicks and girls, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stephens, and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Cash traveled to Castle ford, Idaho Saturday to spend Easter Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Willis Wiley and family. They enjoyed visiting and also celebrated Mrs. Wiley’s birth day anniversary. * * * Geoffrey returned by plane to their home in Reno, Monday. ♦ * » Arlan Haroldsen joined his wife and son Thursday at his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Haroldsen where they had spent last week. Lisa and Mason’s. FORMER BAND DIRECTOR VISITS Frank Turner, former band director at Nyssa High School, was a Nyssa visitor last week. He is now an instructor and director of the band at Santa Monica College. Turner’s Santa Monica band has performed at half-time of the Los Angeles Rams football game each November in an ex travaganza complete with many Hollywood celebrities. Last year they marched in the Pasa dena Tournament of Roses Pa rade, the fourth appearance in the big parade for Turner. He led the Nyssa band in the parade January 1, 1964. Last summer Turner accom panied the Young Americans singing group on their tour of Europe as a chaperone. The Young Americans have now split into two groups, and he will lead one group on their European tour this summer. Mr. and Mrs. Frank (Karma) Turner now have five children.
