On Friday, Mrs. Ben Payne’s mother, Mrs. Stella Newell of Nampa, her brother, Kenny, and his friend, Dave Schuler of Hills Airforce Base in Utah were dinner guests of the Paynes. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Olsen of Huntington were Saturday dinner guests of the Paynes. The Farmerette Club met at the home of Mrs. George Dohner Wednesday afternoon. Three 4-H girls gave demonstrations of thoir work for the women Those participating were Joy Pattee, Sherrill Malone, and Cindy Russell. Carl and Gary Blevins of Mountain View, Calif., who have spent the summer with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alden Bryan, left for their home last week. Johnny Otto, who has spent the summer with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Mell, left for his home in Los Angeles to start school. Mrs. Lucy Evans received word Sunday that her nephew, Lyman Stockham of Buhl has passed away. He had been sick for a long time. He was the bro ther of Mrs. Art Sparks of Nyssa. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Troyer of Richland, Wash., spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Keck. Mrs. Les Gardner and Tina, and Mrs. Janyce Bresse and Gaylene of Middleton called at the Keck home Saturday afternoon. Keith Keck and Steve Gale of Meridian went to Moscow over the weekend, preparing to enter school there this fall. Mr. and Mrs. George Gross man and family of Ellensburg, Wash., visited with Mr. and Mrs. George Pulsipher last week. Frank Fry left Saturday for Moscow where he will enroll at the University of Idaho for the coming school year. Roy Evans left Monday for the Idaho State University at Pocatello where he will enter school. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Stigile and family of Sandpoint, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ziegler and family of Hope, Idaho and Rev. and Mrs. Karl Evans and family of Shelley were recent visitors of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Evans and other relatives, Rev. and Mrs. Ralph Cairns and family of Vale, and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Russell were guests Sundayeveningof Mr. and Mrs. Evans and Roy at a bar becue. GRANGE NEWS Oregon Trail Grange mem bers met in regular session Thursday evening, August 19, with Master Don Somers pre siding. Protem officers were Orma Cleaver, chaplain; Ka thryn Crego, overseer; Donald Crego, assistant steward, and Lucielle Runcorn, gate keeper. Plans for hosting the Pomona Grange meeting to be held Sa turday evening, August 28, 8 p.m. at Oregon Trail Grange were discussed. Members were the "white reminded of elephant” sale to be held at meeting. All the Pomona Malheur County Grange mem bers are urged to attend and bring anything they would like to dispose of. Funds will be used for Pomona projects. The next regular meeting of Oregon Trail Grange will be held Thursday evening, 8:30, September 2.
