Harry Love of Billingham, Wash., arrived Tuesday to visit his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Simpson, he returned home Sa turday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Simp son and Ray Simpson went camping and fishing at Dry Creek Friday evening. Tuesday evening Mr. and Mrs. Mitch Anderson and son visited Mr. and Mrs. Bill Co nant and family and helped them celebrate their wedding anni versary. They were also over night guests. Friday Mrs. Bill Conant and children visited in the Rodney Conant home in Nampa. Sat urday evening Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Conant and Jerry of Nampa and Rich Conant also of Nampa were Saturday dinner ^ClIIU NEWS Thirty Empire Builders met Tuesday evening at the Ken Romans home to set up plans for the County Fairgrounds clean-up day, July 16. At 9a.m. area clean-up and painting will begin and the work day will be followed by a barbecue. Barrels, donated by BLMand the Amalgamated Sugar Co. will be painted. Also fences and some of the livestock barns. Anyone Interested in coming to join in on the work and fun is welcome. You don’t have to be a member to lend a helping hand. Let’s improve our fair! This year the Empire Builders booth will consist of a rest area where fairgoers can sit down, relax and visit. There will also be posters describing the awards and ribbons which are sought after and won by 4-Hers. Members hope this will make the awards more meaningful to everyone. A date will be set later for members to work on posters and getting their booth ready. Next meeting will be at the Ron Mobely home after the barbecue. -Vickie Schaffeld - Reporter guests in the Bill Conant home. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mcatee, Vicke, Bill and Debbie of Puy allup, Wash.; arrived Saturday and were evening dinner guests of their cousin Mrs. Dale Witt. The group later visited another cousin, Mr. and Mrs. W.C Van De Water and son Kent in Big Bend. They had spent two weeks visiting relatives in Marshall County Kansas and his grandmother, Mrs. Nellie Graham at Colby, Kansas. They were there to attend her 90th birthday celebration. They re turned home at 10 p.m. so they could drive while it was cool. They said the temperature in Kansas was from 100 to 105 degrees most of the days while they were there. Crops looked good. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lee Hill entertained with a barbecue July 4, their guests were Mr. and Mrs. David Hill, Shelley and Michael, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Phifer, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan Taggart and family, and C.B. Hill and Jane Rossbach. Mrs. Carl Fenn, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Simpson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Savage and fa mily, Mrs. Jean Fenn and girls of Ontario and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Fenn and family at tended a family fourth of July picnic at the park in Ontario Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Timmer man entertained with a July 4 picnic Sunday, their guests were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Miller and family, Mr. and Mrs. DickStam and family, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Stam and family, Mr. and Mrs. Luit Stam, Mr. and Mrs. John Timmerman of Ontario and Mrs. Lydia and Frankie Wor- den. Mrs. Marie Moore, Hank Moore and Tami Bostwichwere guests at a picnic dinner at the K.I. Peterson home in Adrian July 4. Eugene and Linda Pratt and baby Allison of Eugene spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Pratt, Sr. Mark Pratt who is in the service flew home from Treasure Is land San Francisco Fridayeve- ning for a three day weekend. Mrs. Calvin Briggs and son Kennetn of Boise were Monday dinner guests of Mrs. Dale Witt. Mr. and Mrs. Burton Barnes spent July 4 at the Steens Mt. Mrs. Rollo Fenn went to La- Grande Saturday and spent July 4 with her son, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Churchill and family. She attended Sunday school there, returning home Monday. Friday evening Mrs. Mary McConnell, Mrs. Edith Reece of Nyssa and Mrs. Rollo Fenn went to Homedale and got cherries. Ricky Conant and his father Richard Conant of Nampa vi sited Mrs. Rollo Fenn Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Eastman, the Hardman girls and Cherry Lane attended the rodeo at Vale July 4. Cherry was an over night guest in the Eastman home. Andy Wilson of Seldovia, Alaska who spent two weeks visiting Kathy Hardman, re turned to her home June 25. •J ! They had been visi ting in Yakima, leaving for their home on Friday morning. Mr. and Mrs. NewellCleaver have recenlty moved into the house owned by Robert Munn in the Newell Heights area. Mrs. W.C. Van De Water of Big Bend visited Mrs. Dale Witt Thursday evening. Cherrylee Chamberlain ac companied Faith Foreman and her parents to Ashland Saturday morning to attend the Shake- sperian Festival at SOC. They will return home on Tuesday.
