TVCC ANNOUNCES FOUR NEW COURSES Summer quarter at Treasure Valley Community College will include four courses not taught during previous summers. The schedule carries the following Occupational Education courses; Auto Electrical Sys tems, Advanced Machine Tools, General Drafting, and Welding. Only drafting will be taught during the afternoon with the others to be held in the eve nings. Edwin Haynes, Dean of In struction, pointed out that a full load of 12 hours in lower division collegiate courses is readily available as had been the case for several years. APPLE VALLEY - Mrs. Luella Breneman of Ontario Is visiting this week in the Ed Sells home. Mrs. George Griffin returned Tuesday from a ten-day trip to Fort Benning, Ga. She accom panied her daughter, Mrs. John Lilly who drove there to join her husband. Mrs. Griffin re turned home by bus. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Brooks of Sitka, Alaska, were guests of her sister, Mrs. Lena Leigh Wednesday through Thursday. They will visit relatives here before returning to Alaska. Mr. and Mrs. George Jones of Pierce, Idaho were guests of his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Nichols from June 1 to 6. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Nichols and family visited in the Oscar Nichols home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hildand family of Fruitland were Sat urday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Nichols. Mrs. Helen Miller took Mrs. Nell Correll and Mrs. Luella Brenenman for a drive May 31. They had dinner in Ontario at the La Paloma Cafe. Dinner guests May 30 at the home of Mrs. Helen Wilson were Mr. and Mrs. John Mil ler and daughters, Susan and Vickie and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Miller and infant all of Melba, and Jim Wilson of Portland. Jim arrived home the previous week and left on May 30th for Port land. Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Walburn of Nyssa were Sunday dinner guests of Mr; and Mrs. Oscar Nichols. Kent and Kimberlee Pierce of Boise have been visiting their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Seward this past week. Their parents came for them Saturday andwere dinner guests in the Seward home. Gary Seward went with the group of young people who cleaned up the camp grounds at Victory Cave Saturday for the Nazarene Church camping groups this summer. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Seward visited with Mr. and Mrs. Stone and family who moved last week from a suburb near Portland to the farm where Lester Robinson used to live. Mrs. Burton Smith and Mrs. Hathaway of Ontario were Sun day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Seward. Mrs. Gladys Englehardt re turned Monday from a ten-day vacation at the coast. She visited Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Englehardt and family at Van couver, Wash., and went crab fishing on the coast with them. She also visited Mrs. Martha Black in Beaverton and Mrs. Alice Kilgore in Seattle. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Miller returned home Sunday from a week in Vancouver, Canada, where they attended a Pru- dential Life Insurance conven- tion. Gary Thompson R«c«iv«s Degree Gary Thompson received his Masters degree in commence ment exercises at the University of Idaho on May 30th. Thompson has studied at the University for the past three summers under a grant from the National Science Foundation and spent a summer previous to that at the University of Wash ington In Seattle. He graduated with a Masters of Natural Science degree.
