Members were reminded of the Pomona meeting to be held Saturday, Feb. 15 at Big Bend Grange hall, beginning at noon with dinner to be served by Big Bend women. Next meeting of Oregon Trail Grange will be at 8 p.m. Feb. 20. All members are urged to attend. Eleven members oftheCook- ie Crumbs 4-H club met Feb. 7 in the home economics room of the Adrian High school build ing. The session was called to order by President Peggy Is hida, after which the club mem bers divided into four groups to make cocoa. Everyone will take $1 for food to the next meeting which will be Friday, Feb. 21 in the home economics room where club members will prepare sandwiches, celery and carrot sticks. - Deanna Chaney, re porter. GRANGE Members of Oregon Trail Grange met in regular even- ing session Feb. 6 with Mas- ter Don Somers presiding. Main order of business was the conferring of third and fourth degrees. The third de- gree team was lead by the Rev. J. D. Crego, acting as master. Stanley Sisson acted as mas ter of fourth degree team. The candidate was Mrs. Carl Lin- egar, accompanied by her hus band, member of Western Star Grange, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Speelman of Ontario Heights Grange. Other visitors were from Big Bend and Boulevard Granges. Refreshments were served NYSSA PTA MEETING There will be a meeting of the Nyssa PTA unit held at 8 o’clock this evening, Feb. 13 in the school cafetorium. Bert Wilson, investigator for the Bureau of Drug Control will be guest speaker. His topic will be "Narcotics in the Treasure Valley Schools.” GARDENERS MEET The Owyhee Garden club will meet Friday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Wilbur Holcomb in Nyssa. The program which will be presented by Wendell Carnefix of Vale will be on Evergreens. They saw the play, •USA.’ Mr. and Mrs. Roy Boston and Dorothy of Vancouver, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Boston of Port land arrived Feb. 8 to visit Mrs. Anna Boston who is still a patient at Malheur Memorial hospital. They were also guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Boston, and left Sunday for their homes. Mrs. Bob Shippy and children of Payette were weekend guests of the Earl Bostons. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smalley and children of Ontario were Feb. 9 afternoon visitors in the Waldo Smalley and Rex Nichols homes. Oscar Nichols is reported to be much improved and on Feb. 6, returned to his home. Regular luncheon meeting of the Malheur county board of Realtors was held Feb. 6, at the La Paloma cafe. Guests were Herb Smith, president, and Allen D. Her- hold, executive vice president of the Oregon Association of Real Estate boards. Smith spoke on the “Make America better Program” and urged all real estate agents to be leaders in their communi ties and active in all com munity projects. He also dis cussed the programs of OA REB for 1969, with the two of ficials answering questions. Herhold announced an edu cation program, a don-day sem inar, to be held April 14, at Pendleton. Bob Bale, real es tate marketing expert from Phoenix, Aril., will be speaker. On May 23, a one-day sem inar will be held at the Sher- eton hotel in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Snyder and grandchildren were Feb. 9 dinner guests of Mrs. Maude Cooper at Vale.
