»HURSDAY, JANUARY 1«, 196 m THE NYSSA (.ATE CITY JOURNAL, NYSSA, OREGON _ KINGMAN, KOLONY NEWS - err A CHRISTMAS PARTY SCENE in the nursing horn«- wing at Malheur Memorial hospital on Dec. 22, 1967 as members of the hospital auxiliary and ANK garden club treated the elderly residents. Santa ClauMtte didn't really want to la- Identified, but since she's such acute one, this Journal reporter can say that she is an officer of the auxiliary and her lnitals are E. L. (which stand for Ethel Lawrence alias Mrs. Ralph G.) The garden club and auxiliary women, not only treated the patients to cookiesand punch, but all twelve of tin- nursing horn-- residents were given nice gifts, per sonally selected by Mrs. Joe (Loretta) Cundall, ANK’s chairman tor the project. Other senior citizens who were honored include Augusta Anderson, Clarence Goodman, Denzaburo Kitamura, Ruby Mills, Carlos Ramirez, John Schultz, Florence Storey and Mary Thomas. The auxiliary’s share of the treats was furnished through funds provided from the group’s various profit-making events staged throughout the year. Oh yes, SC EL said "Please mention that the Jolly Old Gentleman’s suit was loaned by the Nyssa Chamber of Commerce - and I’m sure we'll want to borrow it again next year."
