PLAN YULE PARTY Members of tlx? Amity club met Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. Mel Beck, with Mrs. Ray Kynaston as co hostess. A Thanksgiving pro gram was presented and Mrs. Waynard Talbot received the door prize. Next meeting will be the group’s annual Christmas par ty, with their husbands as guests. The yule party hostesses are Mmes. Charles Mann, Don Moss, Jay Gibson and Ken Pond. SUSAN SCHENK (on left) and LINA FLAKE, daughters of the John Schenks and Joseph Flakes, have been accepted Into Alpha luiintia Delta, women’s national honor society, llu* girls are sophomores at Briglutn Young university In Provo, Utah. They are 1966 graduates of Nyssa high school. Their eligibility for the organization is based on cumulative grade point average of 3.5, or above, during their college freshman year. There were approximately 6,000 freshmen last year at BYU, and 30 of them were eligible for tills honor. PINOCHLE PARTIES Family Session Members of the Nyssa Chap ter of Future Homemakers of America held their regular meeting Nov. 14 in the high school little theatre. Tlx- program was a movie and talk by Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kurtz. The theme was family recreation, showing activities available within the area of not more than a days trip away. Some of the places shown and described were tlx-Owyhee dam area, lava flows of the Jordan valley and arrowhead grounds at Succor creek and Nigger Rock. This meeting was family night. Present were 39 FHA girls, 13 mothers, and Mr. and Mis. Harold Kassman and family. After tlx1 program the girls served refreshments of apple cider and doughnuts. Members of the Wednesday aftermxm pinochle club met last week in the home of Mrs. Orma Cleaver. Mrs. Fred Guthrie was high-score prize winner, with Mrs. Sam McConnell taking low-score honors. Mrs( harles Zinn and Mrs. O. E. Cheldelln received the (raveling prizes. Mrs. James Malloy and Mrs. Cheldelin were guest players.
