Wykcoff With Navyman Ritchie in California Wed in Recent Presbyterian Riles By Freda Astoreca SUNSET VALLEY — Mr. and Mrs. George Folkman returned home Jan. 19 from Richmond. Calif., where they visited her son. Robert Ritchie, who is in the U. S. Navy. He was stationed there, but was preparing to leave. The Folkmans toured Robert’s ship, the USS Magoffin. While in California, they were notified of the death of Robert’s Grandmother Ritchie in Nebras ka. She succumbed on her 64th wedding anniversary. Navyman Ritchie went to Ne braska and served as a pallbearer with other grandsons. During their stay in California the Folkmans and Ritchie visited with the Billy Days in San Lo renzo. The trio also toured places of interest in San Francisco, in cluding Chinatown and Fisher men’s Wharf. Enroute home the Folkmans spent several weeks at Overton, Nev., and Moata Valley. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Moore and family of Ontario were recent dinner guests of the Ora Newgens. The Gabe Astoreca family spent a recent Monday evening at the Duane Smith home in Ontario. Sunday the Astorecas drove to Bogus Basin. Sunday evening visitors in the George Folkman home were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Byers and Kim Folkman. Visits OSU Student Kenneth Price visited one eve ning last week with Joel Price in Corvallis. Kenneth was there to attend a seed growers’ meeting. Mrs. Ira Price was a Sunday luncheon guest of Mrs. Grace Day in Adrian. Mike Robb visited last Thurs day evening with Jimmy Langley. Elver and Clifford Nielsens dined Sat urday evening in Ontario and vis ited later with Mrs. Effie Nielsen in Nu Acres. Sunday dinner guests of the Elver Nielsens were her brothers and sisters-in-law. the Kenneth Chards of Boise and the Jack Chard family of Meri dian. Kenneth Shepherd of Montrose. Colo., was a Sunday overnight guest of the Ken Lorensens. He is Lorensen’s uncle. The Lester Headdens of Ontario visited Sun day evening in the Lorensen resi dence and Alice Rodríguez was a Friday evening visitor. The Lor ensens visited Monday evening with Virginia Lorensen and chil dren in the Glen Hagerman home at Ontario. Club Meeting Held Worthwhile club meeting was held last Thursday in the home of Mrs. Harold Alexander. The Wayne Robb family. Gene Lewin and children of New Ply mouth. Renee, Lorna and Kathy Hardman were Sunday dinner guests of the Rev. and Mrs. Jack Glaze and family. Clarence Forsman of Weiser visited Sunday afternoon with the Wayne Robbs. Wayne and Mead Robb visited Saturday with Mae Lytle and Lee Davis in Roswell. Mrs. Jess Asumendi, Curtis and Lillena spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Trump at Wallowa. The Magnus Ekangers visited Friday evening in the Bill Riche- sin home where they were guests for ice cream and cake in honor of Sonya Richesin's first birthday anniversary. Sunday dinner guests in the Harold Snyder home were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Dimmitt of Vale, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Wilson and Tracy, Mrs. Clifford Cates and children of Caldwell. The Hobart Dimmitts of Nyssa were evening visitors. Roberta. Frank. Louis, Christine and Tony Asumendi of Ontario spent the weekend with their father. Jess Asumendi. KITCHEN QUEENS MEET Fourth meeting of the Kitchen Queens’ 4-H club was held Jan. 30 and was conducted by Chris Cleaver. Flag salutes were led by Shan na Bair and Lynn Glenn. Delta Kappa Gamma teachers’ sorority, met for their January session at the May Roberts school plant, with Ontario teachers serv ing as hostesses. Topic for the evening was "Cre ativity in Industry” and the pro gram was given by Dale McLane of Ore-Ida Foods, Inc. Those at tending report he presented many innovations and ideas which prov ed to be very thought-provoking. Wash., spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Toomb and family at Lebanon, Ore. Attending the couple were Donna Ray- nalds. the bride’s sister; and Gerald Wyckoff, brother of the bridegroom. Also present for the ceremony were the bride groom’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Wyckoff of Wal lowa. Ore., and members of both immediate families. The newlyweds are juniors at the University of Oregon in Eu gene, where the bridegroom is a graphic arts major and the bride is majoring in English. The couple left Nyssa Dec. 15 and visited their son. the Paul Cleaver family in Pocatello, before going on to the Hawkeye state. In Newton they visited a son. Max and fam ily. and with another son. Gamer Cleaver and family in Center ville. They also visited other Iowa relatives and friends before re turning to Pocatello and then to Nyssa.
