Alvin Allen, Howard Baker, S. P. Bybee, Max Moore, Devere Nelson, Darwin Jensen and Bill Mitchell. Also assisting were the Misses Leora King, Von- tella Groberg, Katherine Farmer, Sherry and Karen Hust. Serving as gift carriers were Roger Glenn, Craig Froerer and Frankie Moore, assisted by Mike Glenn and Craig Lewis. For the reception program hon oring his sister and husband, Larry Glenn served as master of ceremonies. Bishop Howard Bair offered the opening prayer, with music provided by Melvin Cott rell. “The Sweetheart Tree” was sung by Gwen Nelson, accompa nied by Greg Nelson; “Walk Hand in Hand” was vocalized by Glen Frederiksen and Jerry Williams, accompanied by Mrs. Tom Mit chell. “Temple by the River” and “'May Each Day” were sung by Mark Moncur, accompanied by Nancy Leavitt. Readings were given by Mrs. Stewart Doone, the bride’s aunt, and Mrs. Owen Froerer. Among out-of-area guests at the reception were Mrs. Doone, the bride’s aunt; her grandfather, Walter B. Glenn and Mrs. May McCall of California; Ann Holda- way of Deweyville, Utah; Curtis and Vontella Groberg of Kays ville, Utah; Linda Holindrake of American Fork, Utah; Marge Ste vens of Ogden; Vivian Berrett and David Dibb of Salt Lake City. Other guests included Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Christensen of Tre monton, Utah; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Baker of Portland; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Crawford of Baker. The new Mrs. Crawford was graduated in 1963 from Nyssa high school, attended Boise Junior college and is now studying at Utah State university in Logan. Her husband is a 1960 graduate of Butte high school, was also graduated from Ricks college in Rexburg, Idaho, and from USU. He is now a graduate student there. The newlyweds became resi dents of Unit No. 42, USU Trailer Court at Logan, after returning from a wedding trip into Wyo ming and Montana. S:—s;: PAGE NINE Garden Club Women January Wedding Local Pinochle Group Plan Holiday Show Lists Prize Winners A K H Garden club members Plans Announced met recently at the home of Mrs. John Olsen. Mrs. Joe Cundall assisted with refreshments. During the meeting, new mem bers were admitted to the club. A conservation film was shown, as well as slides taken by Olsens on their trip into Southwest Indian country. Plans are being made for annual display of Christmas rangements which will be held Dec. 10-11 at Nyssa Methodist church. Several members of the club are working on background material under supervision of Mrs. L. A. Maulding, chairman. Next meeting will be Dec. 13 in the residence of Mrs. Elton McCormick at Parma. Exchangee to Speak At Extension Meeting Nyssa Day Home Extension unit members met last Thursday at the home of Mrs. Ron Young. Lesson was a film on “New Fab rics,” given by Mmes. Guy Sparks and Harvey Easton. Next meeting will be an 11 a.m. luncheon Thursday, Dec. 8, at Nyssa Methodist church. All members are urged to take a guest. Speaker will be Miss Prapasri Tangtatswasdi, NHS exchange student from Thailand. Mmes. Sparks and Charles Newkirk will serve refreshments. Six tables were in play Satur day evening at the Oregon Trail Grange pinochle party. High prize winners were Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Bingaman. Second place awards went to Mrs. John Cleaver and Harry Kingrey. Low prizes went to Mrs. Eva Strawn and E. M. Mackey. Hosts and hostesses were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Holmes, Mr. and Mrs. Rommell Moss. Next session will be Saturday evening, Nov. 26, at the Grange hall. Everyone interested is wel come to attend. J SCHOENS VISIT RELATIVES MISS LESLIE WATKINS ... To Wed David Larsen ♦ Mr. and Mrs. Bill Schoen spent a recent week with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Dike at Pomeroy, Wash., and with their son, the Jhelmar Schoen family at Kennewick, Wash. « Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan Talbot of Nyssa announce the engagement of their daughter, Leslie Watkins, to David Larsen, son of Nyssans Mr. and Mrs. Neils Larsen. The bride-elect studied at Nyssa high school and is now attending Payette Beauty school. Her fiance was graduated in 1966 from NHS and is presently employed by Shigeno farms. Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. McPartland of Nyssa. Miss Batchelder is presently residing in Salt Lake City where she is employed as a secretary. Her fiance is a mathematics major at Northwest Nazarene college in Nampa. A Dec. 17 wedding in Ontario Church of the Nazarene is being planned by the betrothed couple. DUPLICATE BRIDGE CLUB HOSTESS LISTS WINNERS High score winners for Nyssa Duplicate Bridge club’s Nov. 14 session have been reported by Mrs. Houston Wilson, hostess for the weekly card parties. Doreen Fillmore and Mrs. Wil son tallied the high score. Second place winners were Lucille Wil son, Marlene Michael and Alyce Hickox. Regular play is planned for the party to be held next Monday at the Wilson residence. ROBERT F.
