She is 18. was graduated from NHS in 1966 and plans to attend Ricks college in Rexburg, Idaho. Lora Jo Stoker was graduated this spring from Adrian high school and also plans to study at Ricks college. She is the 18- year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stoker of route 2, Nyssa, and her talent includes dramatic and comical readings. Carma Blanch, 18, a 1966 grad uate of Adrian high school, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph A. Blanch, route 1, Nyssa. She will be a student at Treasure Valley Community college this fall and will be singing for the judges. Other Contestant* Listed Among other contestants is Judi Anne Alderson, a pianist and vocalist, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Alderson of New Plymouth. She is 19 and will be a sophomore at TVCC. Lorraine Hasler, 19, was grad uated from Vale Union high school and is a daughter of the J. Henry Haslers of the county seat town. This fall she will be a sophomore at Brigham Young university in Provo. She is also a vocalist. Sarabelle Hull will be a sopho- more at TVCC and is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Chester Hull of Ontario. She is 19 and for her talent selection will give a dra matic reading. Glenda Louise Olson’s parents are the Glen Olsons of Ontario She is also 19 and will be a sopho more at Northwest Christian col lege in Eugene. She is an organ ist. Diane Cathy Pugh is the 18- year-old daughter of the John Pughs of Brogan. She is a Vale high school graduate and will be a sophomore this year at Oregon State university in Corvallis. Her talent selection will be a dra matic reading. ARRIVE FROM CALIFORNIA Mr. and Mrs. Kent Mann, nee Gloria Gonyer, and daughter, Me lanie of Walnut Creek, Calif., ar rived Wednesday morning to spend several days with their parents, the Charles Manns, Leo Gonyers and members of their families. ZACK WALKER UNDERGOES SURGERY; CHILDREN VISIT Mr. and Mrs. Louis Walker of Everett, Wash., arrived Friday to be with his father, Zack Walker, who underwent major surgery the previous day at Malheur Me morial hospital. They were over night guests of Mrs. Walker and left Saturday morning to visit relatives in Boise before return ing home. Other weekend visitors were the Walker couple’s son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Rust, Angi and Andi of Portland. They were accompanied to Nyssa by Rust’s sister, Mrs. John (Lil lie) Wagner, also of Portland. Mrs. Wagner was a guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rust; and the Ben Rust family also spent some time in the parental home. New Truck Acquired By Rural Fire District (Continued From Page 1) Just last month, the rural board voted to give $50 to new Fire Chief Delbert Malloy for extra work he will be called upon to do. The second reason for economy in operation is that the city houses the area’s two trucks. In turn the rural district and the city have a working agreement which allows the volunteers to use the rural truck for fire calls within the city. However, if a call should come from the rural area while the truck is being used in the city, the crew would immediately take off to the scene of the rural blaze New Truck Costs Double The new truck, delivered in August 1966, cost the district $18,833—plus the used truck.
