Bethel 33. held a regu lar meeting Thursday evening. April 7, in the Masonic hall with Honored Queen Trudy Olsen pre siding During the business session, discussion was held regarding grand bethel sessions to be held during June at Portland. Due to lack of funds, it was decided that the top five officers, together with delegates and an adult chap erone. will attend the meetings. Cash awards were presented to girls selling 15 or more smorgas bord tickets. Junior Princess Teresa Hamil ton appointed committees to help with her project which was a cooked food sale held Saturday at Bracken’s Department store. It was announced that Grand Guardian Jean Hargrave will make an official visit to the bethel during the next regular meeting on April 21. Plans were also made for a special session to be held Saturday afternoon. May 7, when the majority degree will be pre sented and mothers of bethel members will be honored. Senior Princess Sheila Huffman announced that her project will be a rummage sale to be held in mid-May. Classified* Bring Results 1 Program on Japan Given For Amity Club Members Mrs. Madge Wilson entertained Saturday evening for members of the Amity club with 15 women in attendance. Mrs. Waynard Tal bot conducted a brief business session and then the meeting was turned over to Mrs. Royce (Gloria) Roberts, who presented a program on Japan. Mrs. Roberts showed the group many articles and pictures which she had brought back from Japan and told of her experiences dur ing the two years she resided in that country while her husband was stationed there with the arm ed forces. Date and place of the next club meeting will be announced. Duplicate Winners Told For Monday Bridge Party High score winners for the Monday evening session of Nyssa Duplicate Bridge club have been reported by Mrs. Houston Wilson, hostess for the weekly card par ties. Highest scorers were Mr. and Mrs. John Wilson. Tallying the same scores to tie for second and third places were Mrs. Houston Wilson and Mrs. E. H. Brandt, Dr. and Mrs. K. A. Danford. Mrs. Wilson reports that regu lar play will be held Monday eve ning. The public is welcome to attend the sessions which begin at 8 o’clock in the Eagles hall. Mystery Day Specials! Parents of the future bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Byrd Walters of Owyhee junction. Miss Campbell is a member of the senior class at Adrian high school. Her fiance was graduated from Adrian high with the class of 1965 and is presently attending Treasure Valley Community col lege in Ontario. A definite wedding date has not been selected by the betrothed couple. STRONG FAMILY RETURNS TO HOME IN CALIFORNIA Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Strong. Diana, Robin. Terry, 'Todd and Tami and Douglas Hansen left Monday morning to return to their home at Anaheim, Calif., after a week’s visit with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Black bum and other relatives. Nancy Smith of Washington state, Mrs. Myrtle Smith and Alice Smith of rural Nyssa visit ed one day last week with the Strongs in the Blackbum home. Weekend guests were Mr. and Mrs. Loise Boren and Leonard of Durkee. Sunday afternoon visitors in the Blackburn residence were Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Blackburn, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. During the business session, conducted by President Mrs. Ira Price, it was reported that the district meeting will be May 25 at the Moore hotel in Ontario. Members of Town and Country Garden club will serve as hos- teases. April 20 was date set by the cemetery project committee to visit various area cemeteries to determine the most attractive way of erecting a proposed en trance sign. The group voted to take their rock hunting trek on April 25 in stead of in May as was previously planned. Mrs. Charles Chapin was named chairman for the tour and asks that club members no tify her early if they plan to go with the group. The women will meet at her home, planning to leave there at 9 a m., taking food items for a potluck dinner. A program on hardy succulents was given at the Friday afternoon meeting by Mrs. Carl Lee Hill, and a plant exchange followed. (The getting was never greater!)
