Carlton Palmer and Hugh Huinphrvy. Vale. The practice of selecting high school jurors for cases involving young offenders was begun recently within Malheur county. Juvenile department officials say they believe the new procedure will bring better understanding and judgments in court actions concerning minors. VISITOR FROM EUGENE Legal Notices Miss Joan Marcum of Eugene arrived April 3 for a visit of sev eral days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Murle Marcum nnd oth er relatives The trio left April 6 for Eugene where Joan resumed studies at Eugene Business col lege and the Marcums visited their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Marcum and family. The Nyssans also visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Marcum, before returning home on Monday. Saturday afternoon, April 9, I960, ! at the Owyhee LDS chapel with ■ Robert Haney and the deceased’s i 'ion, John W. Clifford in charge. The latter was on leave from U. S. Army duties in Formosa. Mr. Clifford, a retired farmer, 'luecumlx-d the prevoius Wednes day in the Veterans’ hospital at Boise, following an extended ill ness. He was bom Aug 4, 1889, at Idaho Falls and resided at various locations in Idaho until I960 when | he came to the Nyssa area. On Aug. 14 that year, he was married to Tessie Olson at Winnemucca, Nev. In addition to his widow and son, John W.. he is survived by another son, Clayton Clifford of Shoshone, Idaho; four daughters, Mrs. Fern Dennis of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Ruth Collier of Ash land, Ore., Mrs. Laura Schultz of Spokane and Mrs. Jennie Mar shall of Salt Lake. Other survivors include a bro ther, Charles Clifford of Brigham City, Utah; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Visitors From California Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jamison and Marilyn and Kathy Goodman, all of Napa, Calif., and Anna Bos ton of Roswell were guests from Wednesday until Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Boston. Saturday dinner guests of the Bostons were the California visitors, Anna Rox ton, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Shippy and Danny, and th«- John Boston family. Mrs. Jennie Boston and Susan of Ontario were evening viaitora. Thomas of Blackfoot, Idaho, Mrs. Grace Christensen of Alberta, Canada, Miss Nellie Clifford of Brigham City and Mrs. Hila Par kinson of Encampment, Wyo. Also surviving are 16 grandchil dren and one great-grandchild; two step-sons, Ix-onard Olson of Orovada, Nev., and Elmer Olson of Tulelake, Calif; one step daughter, Mrs. Jessie Furiham of Kuna, Idaho. Services were under direction of Lienlcaemper funeral home, with interment made in Owyhee cemetery. Pallbearers were Clayton Clif ford, George Whipple, Ralph Christensen, John Collier, Ber nard Marshall, Elmer and Leon ard Olson.
