(Don Eaton, son-in-law of the Jayos, was one of the attorneys taking the oath. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Adams were Sunday afternoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. John Adams at Parma. Neal remained for a few days’ visit with his brother and family before leaving for Bain bridge, Md., where he will attend school. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Noel of Parma were recent Tues day evening visitors in the Byers home. Mrs. David Ballantyne and boys, Mrs. Wayne Moses and son of Apple Valley accompanied their mother, Mrs. Edward Simp son of Caldwell, to Boise last Thursday when they picnicked at Ann Morrison park. * / ' Exercise at Ft. Lewis Army Private First Class Jesse K. Kygar, son of Mr. and Mrs. John K. Kygar of route 1, Nyssa, took part in Exercise March Hare II, a major field training exer cise conducted April 2-9 by the 4th Infantry division at Fort Lewis, Wash. Kygar participated in various tactical maneuvers, including in fantry attacks and river cross ings, designed to test the divi sion’s combat readiness. The 22-year-old soldier, a medi cal aidman in Headquarters and Company A of the 4th Infantry division’s 4th Medical battalion at Fort Lewis, entered the Army in February 1964. He completed ba sic training at Fort Ord, Calif., and was last assigned at Fitz simons General Hospital, Denver, Colo. Kygar, a 1961 graduate of Ad rian high school, was employed by the Oregon State Highway de partment at Ontario before en tering the Army. His wife, Bertha, lives in Steila coom, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Schafer spent Easter Sunday with the Bill Marshall family in Meridian. Arrives From Hawaii Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Schafer re ceived a telephone call Sunday evening from their son, Fred, who had just arrived in Salt Lake City from Hawaii. Fred and his family are expected to arrive here next week for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Phifer and Dale of La Grande spent the weekend with the James Phifer family, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bowers. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Chamberlain and family of Nyssa were Friday evening callers at the Earl Kygar home. The Kygars were Sunday evening guests at the Byrd Wal ters residence. Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Callister called Sunday on Mr. and Mrs. Homer King of Ridgeview. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ray of Quincy, Wash., were April 20-21 overnight guests in the Charlie Bowers home.
