Exercise at Ft. Lewis
Army Private First Class Jesse
K. Kygar, son of Mr. and Mrs.
John K. Kygar of route 1, Nyssa,
took part in Exercise March Hare
II, a major field training exer
cise conducted April 2-9 by the
4th Infantry division at Fort
Lewis, Wash.
Kygar participated in various
tactical maneuvers, including in
fantry attacks and river cross
ings, designed to test the divi
sion’s combat readiness.
The 22-year-old soldier, a medi
cal aidman in Headquarters and
Company A of the 4th Infantry
division’s 4th Medical battalion at
Fort Lewis, entered the Army in
February 1964. He completed ba
sic training at Fort Ord, Calif.,
and was last assigned at Fitz
simons General Hospital, Denver,
Colo.
Kygar, a 1961 graduate of Ad
rian high school, was employed
by the Oregon State Highway de
partment at Ontario before en
tering the Army.
His wife, Bertha, lives in Steila
coom, Wash.
