NYSSA PHARMACY "Your Corner Rexall Store" Every Christmas, the phenome non of the blossoming Holy Thorn Tree takes place in England and Washington, D.C. Faithfully on Dec. 25, a tree called the Holy Thorn or Glaston bury Thorn blooms in the ancient English town of Glastonbury. Sometime during the same month, an off - shoot of the same tree bursts into bloom in Washington’s Cathedral of the Close. According to legend, two days before Christmas 63 years after the birth of Christ, St. Joseph of Arimathea neared Glastonbury, carrying with him the Holy Grail used at the Last Supper. While pausing to rest at the top of a hill overlooking the town, he drove his staff in the ground, where it immediately took root. The next day, Christmas Eve, it had turned into a thorn tree cov ered with blossoms. Greetings Every good wish for your Yuletide happiness.
