Mrs. Howard Bair read a his tory of “The Ocean Voyage” writ ten by Dan Jones about the third company of handcart pioneers. Mrs. Robert Stringham, lesson leader, gave the lesson on the 1840-61 Mormon emigration. Refreshments were served by the hostesses to 14 members and three guests in attendance. Those attending were Mrs. Virgie Rook stool, Mrs. Rose Toombs, Mrs. Orma Cleaver, Vern Duus, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zinn, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kurtz, Mr. and Mrs. Pete VanderOord, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Schoen. Following dinner, the group went to the Schoen home for cards. Prize winners were Mrs. Rookstool and VanderOord. Duplicate Bridge Club Holds Master Point Play Master point play was held by Nyssa Duplicate Bridge club when the group met Monday evening with eight tables in play. North-south winners were Mrs. Herb Fisher and Mrs. David Sara- zin, first; Mrs. Roy Nishizaki and Mrs. Houston Wilson, second; Mrs. Howard Myrick and Roy Nishi- zaki, third; Mrs. Ray Russell and Mrs. Rex Voeller, fourth. High score winners in the east west group were Dr. and Mrs. L. A. Maulding, first. Tied for second were Mrs. Bertha Taylor and Mrs. Shorty Brandt, Mrs. Richard Wilson and Mrs. Gene DeMinck.
