BBPYBBBB1 1. li Camping Trips Highlight News At Apple Valley THE NYSSA ÓATE CITY JOURNAL, NYSSA, ORIG0* Newell Heights By Karla Kriegh APPLE VALLEY—Mr. and Mrs Clarence Fritts, Mr. and Mrs Clarence Tuning and Mr and Mrs. Robert Tuning and family recently went to Stanley lake for a camping trip where they were snowed out and went down to Packer John’s camp at New Mea dows. Here they fished on the Little Salmon and other streams At the end of their stay they had dinner with a sister, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Ostermeir in New Meadows. They returned last Sunday after a cold nine-day trip. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Nelson and family and Mr. and Mrs. An dy Nelson and family went on a camping trip to Indian creek last week. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Honey of North Hollywood, Calif., were house guests last week of his bro ther, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Honey. They took Gary, Gaylene and Lori Griffin on a camping trip to McCall over Labor day weekend. Mr. and Mrs. George Giffin join ed them on Friday and Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Honey left from Mc Call at the end of the week for their home in California. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wilson and children and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hedges camped out at Camp Laf ferty from Friday through Sun day, returning by way of Oxbow and Brownlee dams. They had a cold but enjoyable trip. Hedges Injures Foot Thursday morning Jim Hedges, Jr., had the misfortune of catch ing his foot in some trash he was removing from a potato harvester, throwing him under the tractor. He was fortunate to come out with only some bruises and a cracked heel bone. Jessie Lee circle of WSCS will meet Thursday, Sept. 15, with Mrs. Jack Wilson. Mrs. Emma Morgan of Glenns Ferry spent last week visiting her sister, Mrs. Mary Manka. Mrs. Mary Manka and son were Caldwell visitors Tuesday. They went on to Midvale to see a daughter, Mrs. Troutman. They found the family all quite ill with summer flu. Mrs. Naomi Price and Mr. Price, Sr., of Nampa were Wed nesday guests of Mrs. Elsie Robin son and Gertrude Hicks. Neda Fraser of Ontario and Nina Lowe of Nyssa were their guests Thurs day afternoon. Return to Nebraska Mr. and Mrs. George Stott and son left last week for their home in Gothenburg, Neb., after visit ing in the Clyde Bowers home. George and Bill Hust went to Klamath Falls last week where Bill enrolled at Oregon Tech. They returned via Roseburg and visited the Ellis Warners, former residents of Arcadia. Dorothy Houston spent last week with her aunt, Ruth Hous ton in Ontario. Jim Sigler and family and Tom and Peggy Houston were Sunday dinner guests in the Cecil Hous ton home. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Rossou of Mountain Home and Mrs. Ros- sou’s mother, Minnie Hershey, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. George Hust. Mrs. Hershey re mained for a few days and at tended the fair in Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Hansen of Maupin, Ore., visited Mr. and Mrs. George Hust one day last week.
