Friday, December 2 is the date set for the meeting of the Sunset exten sion unit at the home of Mrs. Del bert Garner. "Oven Meals" will be the project for the day. A meeting for all women who plan on making the cotton dresses later this winter in the extension unit work will be held December 6. It is necessary to attend this meeting as preparation for later dressmaking, which will in clude cotton and wool dresses. The meeting will be held at the Boule vard Grange hall. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Schwelzer. Miss Clarice Notheis and Delbert Poor attended a card party Satur day evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Haworth in Parma. Miss Clarice Notheis left today for Portland as Malheur county delegate to an education convention meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Clonlnger re turned Wednesday after spending a week in Portland. They were sup per guests at the Albert Notheis home Thursday. The occasion was Mrs. Notheis’ birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Garner were hosts at a family dinner Thanks giving at their home. They returned Sunday, know ing she was resting easier. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Gamer and Mr. and Mrs. Vern Gamer drove to Burley, Idaho last Tuesday to at tend the funeral of a son of Mr. Gamers’ niece. The 10-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymon Beam be came entangled In a horses reins and was dragged to death. Mr and Mrs Lorene Hite of Haines were house gueests Friday and Sat urday at the John Reffett home, leaving Sunday for Portland for a truckload of creosote. Hite, a pole dealer, will use the creosote in his large pole-dipping plant at Haines. Mr. and Mrs. John Reffett took their granddaughter. Rosemary Ref fett to her home in Nampa Saturday, completing a two weeks visit. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Newgen and sons of Madras, were Sunday even ing supper guests at the John Ref fett home. The visitors plan on vis iting friends in the val'ey for sev eral days. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Gregg left Tuesday for Madras. He will farm James Langley’s place at Madras the coming year, and wishes to spend several days there making preparations to move. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Briggs and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Schwelzer were Sunday dinner guests at the Guy Olenn home. Mr. and Mrs. Briggs drove to White Horse ranch, 140 miles south of here last Sunday. Briggs has a position there, feeding cattle, and they plan on moving the first of December. They have been with Schweizer almost two years. The White Horse ranch was owned by the Pacific Livestock company in early days and is now owned by Don Stewart. Mr. and Mrs. Vadel Swenson and two children of Malad, Idaho and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Pett were Wed nesday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Garner. Mrs. Swenson, a sister of Mrs. G ar ner, has been spending the holi days at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. James Chadd and daughter dined In Caldwell Thurs day at the Clyde Didericksen home. Mr. and Mrs. Chadd were guests at the Harry Gahan home. Mrs. Gahan, who won a turkey at the Lions carnival, presented it to Mr. Chadd as a birthday gift. Mr. and Mrs. Gahan are making plans to leave soon for a visit of several weeks in Kansas. Houseguests at the Delbert G ar ner home Friday and Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Piercy Burnett of Kemmerer, Wyoming, and Mrs. Anna Barton of Roy, Utah. Mrs. Barton is a sister of Mr. Garner. COLUMBIA AVE., Dec. 1—Mr. and Mrs. Pete de Leeuw left Wednesday morning for a trip to California to spend Thanksgiving with relatives. C. M. Tensen returned Wednes day from Portland and left again Monday for medical treatment. Thanksgiving dinner guests at the George Smlt home In Nu-Acres were Mr. and Mrs. Oerrlt Stam.
