Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Put shortening and vanilla into mixing bowl. Add sugar gradually, m ixing u ntil light and fluffy. Beat in egg vigorously. Stir in milk. Add flour mixture, about V i at a time, mixing well after each addi tion. Fold in coconut and corn flakes. Drop from a teaspoon onto greased baking sheet 2 in. apart.
