Ontario firemen rushed to the scene with the fire department’s rural truck and immediately start ed pumping water opto the flames from a nearby ditch. With the help of many individuals, the fire men prevented complete loss of the building and contents. Those fighting the fire were able to save one of the pianos, a loud speaker, a cupboard containing dish es, cooking utensils and the furnace. Insurance of $3500 was reported to have been carried on the build ing. The cause of the fire, starting on the upper floor, has not been definitely determined.
