Harold Nelson was a Sunday din er guest of Bob Shad who is working on the Bill Leavitt ranch. The McCarty brothers have re ceived word that the McCarty estate in Minden, Neb., the old home where all the boys were bom and raised is to be under irrigation through the Tri-County project now under con- structioo. Their estate is not directly in the dust bowl area but has been very dry for several years. The Lincoln P T A is to have their regular business meeting at the home of Mrs. Floyd Kinney on Wed- esday afternoon, Jauary 19. Every one of the district is urged to at tend. It was also a social party in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd K in ney's 11th wedding anniversary. After a pleasant evening was en joyed refreshments were served. Ray Steinhause of Nyssa visited over the week end with Frank Du- Pre. Mr. and Mrs. Roy McNeil and baby daughter visited Mr. and Mrs Fred Gramse in Ontario Saturday evening. Mrs. Joe Blahnik is substituting in the primary room for Miss Kather ine Neilson as she is still unable to teach. Mrs. A. Z. Hatch home Wednesday. Mr. Herman Tim in o f Portland spent the past week visiting in the Sweet home. He accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Sweet to Caldwell E’riday where they visited Mr. A1 Fisk who is seriously ill. The Girl Scouts met with their leader, Mrs. M. Judd at her home m the Kolony Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Welsh who spent the holidays visiting their daughter Mrs. Charles Powell and family at Ranier returned home last Friday. The Raney fam ily who rented the H. J.. Sloan ranch last year, moved to the Rose ranch on the Island and Case M untjewerff will move on this ranch which he and his son Gerritt has bought. Mr. Tom Campbell has rented the Sweet ranch for the coming year. Mr. and Mrs. Hart of the Owyhee were guests in the M untjewerff home Wednesday. Fourteen parents visited the Wade school Friday and enjoyed hearing their children take part in regular routine of study and recitation. They enjoyed a delicious dinner served cafeteria style. A P. T. A. meeting was held at close o f the day. Mr. and Mrs. Coe Hart, newly weds, are living in tenant house on the Tate ranch. Mr. Piatt of Nyssa accompanied by H. J. Sloan of Ontario was look ing over the Bend with intention of buying if suited. Mrs. Le Roy Bennett entertained the members of the T. K. club at her home Friday aftmoon. Many from Roswell attended. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Hatch and daughter of Parma were Sunday guests in the H. R. Hatch home. The G irl Scouts are giving their play at the Kolony school house Friday evening. R. L.
