Young, Secretary (Paid A dv.) Dear Madam: s Fifty years ago every home manager used to weave cloth, make soap and bake the family bread. Nowadays you turn such tasks over to people who make a business of doing these things. In our modem laundry we make a BUSINESS of wash day. W e wash more clothes each month than your laundress could wash in a century of scrubbing. What’s more, we keep pace with progress. Each season brings new fabrics, new colors, that must be given careful, scientific study to make sure that each receives the washing process best suited to it. To make certain we are always up to date— the Laundryowners National Association has a Research Fellowship at the Mellon Institue, and a Proving Station at the American Institute of Laundering.
