McConnell and Mrs. Wm. Gibson, hostesses for Wade P.-T. A .last Friday, changed the meet ing to a lawn party and shower in honor of Mrs. Darwin Berger, visitor from Medford. Mrs. Berger was formerly Miss Maurine Johnston, a Big Bend girl. Her friends were delighted to see her. At the party she was the recipient of many lovely gifts. The hostesses served ice cream and cake at the close of the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Berger left Sunday to visit in Rupert and Idaho Falls before their return to Medford. They were at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Johns ton, parents of Mrs. Berger, a week. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Sweet and son Rupert of Olympia, Wash., arrived Sunday for a visit with the former’s Harper—Mrs. C. J. Bush, well known resident of the county and former teacher at Harper, with her daughters Margery and Barbara, left Monday for Eugene where the girls will attend school. They plan to locate in Eugene. Mr. Bush will join them soon, if he disposes of his property In Harper. For years he has been postmaster and mer chant here.
