AND MRS PAUL M. WEIDMAN Weidman-Arterbum Rites Held at ECNA December 23 Thursday, January 25 VHS of BANKS Thursday, February 1 General Telephone Co. In a double-ring ceremony, Satur day, December 23, Miss Rosemary Arterbum became the bride of Paul M. Weidman, in the Vernonia Evangelical Church. The rites were performed by Rev. Jack Carlson, church pastor; and Rev. Marion Knoll, pastor of the Mapleton Evangelical Church. Mrs. Lloyd Thomas and Mrs. Ron Welch accompanied the vocalists, Mrs. Charles Turman and Mary Anne Clark. The bride, daughter of M r. and Mrs. Chet Arterbum of Salem, was given in marriage by her father. For her wedding she chose a formal-length gown of white lace over satin, featuring a high neckline trim m ed with scalloped lace, and long full sleeves gathered at the wrists to wide cuffs. It was in A-line style with empire waist and de tailed with seed pearls. Her short veil of illusion fell from a headpiece of lace flowers. She carried a bou quet of red roses, white daisies and statice. Maid of honor was Diane Aider- son of Valsetz with M arilyn Bren- den of Silverton, serving as brides maid, and Sonia Aldrich, flowergirl. All the attendants were attired in floor-length gowns of red velvet, trimmed with white lace, and carried baskets of holly and red Juanita Davis, sisters of the groom, cut the cake while Mrs Inez McSwain served punch and Mrs Auda Thompson poured coffee. The guest book was in the charge of Mrs. Nona Weidman, and Mrs. Sandi Carmiencke was in charge of the gift table. Among the many guests attend ing the ceremony was Mr. and Mrs Alex Harvey, Joanne and John of Seattle; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Boyd of Bothel, Washington, Mr. and Mrs. Stan McSwain, Mr. and Mrs. Dale McSwain and Kathy of Coos Bay , Mr. and Mrs. Jim Davis, Dennv Karen, Donny of Lebanon; and Mr.’ and Mrs. Jack Lacey of Arizona. The bride is presently employed by the Vernonia School District while the groom, a VHS graduate, is employed by Fuiten Mortuary Cha pels. Following a wedding trip to Cali fornia the new Mr and Mrs. Paul M Weidman are at home in Ver nonia.
