Hunt Fishing Oregon outdoorsmen are remind ed that the 1972 hunting and fishing licenses expire December 31 and" new 1973 documents are needed by all persons taking to the out-of- doors to hunt or fish beginning Jan uary l. Shipment of 1973 hunting and fishing licenses to dealers is now in progress by the Game Commission and is expected to be complete to all agents by December 15. Steelhead fishermen are the main group of sportsmen affected by the new license requirement since the winter season for these big fish is now in full swing and will continue until spring Anglers should obtain the new document well in advance if they plan to fish on New Y e a r’s Day, January 1. Others affected early in January are bow and arrow hunters intend ing to participate in the Roosevelt elk archery season scheduled through January and for 100 arch ers holding permits for the Indian Creek elk area in Union County The only scheduled season for rifle hunters is the Troy Elk Season extending through January and open to 250 permit holders Water- fowl and chukar and quail hunters should also remember to outfit themselves with a new license. Outdoorsmen are reminded that a hunting license is required to hunt for any animal of the state This includes the game species as well as rabbits, coyotes and other nonpro tected animals.
