New Years Eve Wedding Rites Unite Hartzell - Hancock poinsettias ami Holly decorated the Vernonia Evangelical Church New Year’s eve when Claracy Ann Hartzell became the bride of Eve rett (Butch) Hancock in a candle light ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Hartzell, longtime residrtits of Ver nonia. The grmxn is the son of Mr. ami Mrs C.A Hancock of Troutdale, Oregon Rev. Jack Carlson, pastor of the Evangelical Church, preformed the «louble ring ceremony. The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, wore a snow white empire peau-de-aoie gown «enhanced with long puffed sleeves of French sheer nylon. A finger tip tulle veil was highlighted with a velvet bow at the ciown Shu carried a white Bible with white streamers topped with a cynbklium orchid. Vietnam, roommate of Heather Higginbotham, both sophomores at Pacific University, spent Christ mas vacation from December 18 to January 9 with the Ralph Higgin botham family. They enjoyed learning about h«-r country ami customs. She prepared Vietnamese meals while here.
