National Bank of Oregon has reported an increase in deposits of 7.3 per cent, according to figures released to James J. Saxon, comp troller of the currency, on the April 26 call date. E. J. Kolar, U. S. National presi dent, reported that deposits on that date totaled $1,086,161,015.80, an in crease of $73,747,836.06 over the April 15, 1964 call date. At the same time, loans and dis counts moved upward by 7.1 per cent from $597,508,728.61 a year ago to $639,620,545.55. This was a jump of more than $42 million. The Vernonia Branch of the U. S. National ercorded total deposits of $1,715,808.79, according to B. R. Pil ger, manager. Loans and discounts fcr the local branch stood at $322,- 086.21. Total resources for the 97-cffice statewide system also moved up ward by $90 million to a new call date high of $1,207,096,910.42. Vernonia Grange Plans Remodeling of Hall Vernonia Grange held its first meeting in its new location on North street Saturday night, May 8. Plans were discussed for a new concrete foundation under the kitchen and for remodeling the interior of the hall. The men will meet at the hall Saturday, May 15, to work on the foundation. A card party will be held at the hall May 22 at 8 o’clock. Refresh ments will be pot luck, as usual. The HEC will meet at the hall on the afternoon of May 27 and the wo men will talk over plans for a Grange float in the Friendship Jam boree parade and, also, for a fair booth. Let's Get Acquainted!
