This was the first time these two teams had met and for a few minutes it looked like a good match. Then Vernonia’s ‘Heavies” began to boom and it was soon over. Milton Lamping was in rare form, shooting a 100 prone, 91 kneeling and 92 off hand for a total of 283, followed by Ralph Aldrich with 99 prone,'94 kneel ing and 90 off hand, for a total of 283. Then came Harold Peter son with 100 prone, 92 kneeling, and 84 off hand. They were fol lowed by Tod Bowerman with 275 and Ben George 272. As she was unable to par take too much in the festivities, due to her recent injury, her family and friends were doing their best to entertain her. Her father and two brothers, Rowland and Bob Eley, had just returned fi-om the coast. For the evening’s entertainment Virginia’s younger brother, Rowland, and a friend Floyd Otis, recorded their voices on records. Lucky Eley a very entertaining hostess made the evening complete. A requested birthday song from the family was on the air about 11:30 p.m. Miss Jean Kirkbride, a close neighbor and schoolmate was also present. Mist P.-T.A. met at the school the evening of December 14. President Norman Hansen re ported that larger school traffic signs had been put up. The P.-T.A. will begin serving a hot dish at the school directly after the Christmas vacation. Lunch was served by Mrs. Jack Crawford and Mrs. William Wil son.
