Louis Huntley and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald McCool, with the help of their hounds, tracked down a bob cat at the end of 10th street a few days ago. Was over at Doc Sherman’s drug store listening to the World Series • n the radio, Curly Lawson wan ders in and says: “How about a chocolate malted. Doc?’* ‘‘Sorry, Curly,” says Doc. “can’t make you a malted for a while yet.” “What’s the idea?” Curly asks. “Well.” says Doc, “most of the folks want to hear the game and the mixer makes too much noise.’’ Curly thinks a moment and says, “Okay with me. Doc— 1’11 take a chocolate soda!” This shows how tolerant folks t an he. Doc showed his respect for how the majority felt; Curly wa< big enough not to insist on his malted even though he doesn't hap pen to he fond of baseball. From where 1 sit, willingness to respect the other people's feelings is important in a Democracy. If we're tolerant of a person’s like for baseball or a glass of temper ate beer, we’ve come a long way en the right road . . . the road to a better America, that is! Lindsley and son, Kenneth, made a business trip to Hillsboro Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Young of Mountainberg, Arkansas are visit, ing at the E. L. Lloyd and Howard Dutton homes. Mrs. Dutton is a sister to Mr. Young. If Mr. Young can find work here, they plan to live here. Mr. and Mrs. 0. B. Atkinson and family of Scappoose visited at the E. I.. Lloyd and Bud Rose homes Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. James Walker and daughter and son of Eugene spent the week end at the W. D. Steele home. Mrs. Joanne Savage called on Mrs. W. D. Steele Friday after- noon and Mr. and Mrs. Oscai Steele and a friend from Sweet Home spent Sunday there. TREHARNE — Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Wienecke and (laughters of Springfifcld spent the past week with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wienecke. They also visited relatives at North Plains and Hillsboro. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Leslie of Lebanon were guests of Mr. and I Mrs. H. A. Wilson over the week' end. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Wilkes of Tillamook visited Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Wilson Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
