TOPICS OF THE TOWN Mr. and Mrs. Paul Vem Adams and baby daughter from Berkeley California visited his father and mother Mr. and Mrs. Paul Naviaux last Sunday, leaving for home Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. John Rosa spent their 44th wedding anniversary August 17 with their daughter Wilma Borton, and family. Mrs. Ester Morgan and mother- in-law, Mrs. Sadie Naviaux, Mrs. Crecie Bass, Mrs. Herlene Robert son and Mrs. Wilma Borton motor ed to Portland last Thursday to see Ralph Borton who is in a cast and will be for several weeks. of whom have been a part of the power administration since its in ception in 1937, is irreparable, Ad ministrator Raver said. Two O-A employees were taken to St.' Vincents hospital, Portland, in the Bush ambulance last Fri day to be treated for hand injuries. The injured men were R. A. Wil liams and J. G. Colquette. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lange and granddaughter, Sunny Lee DeHart, were Portland visitors over the week end with James <F. Lange and family and the Bob Burt family. Paul J. Raver, Bonneville ad ministrator, said that the reduction was effected by drastic curtail ment all along the line and that time only would tell what the over-all effect would be on opera tions of the power system, the largest high-voltage distribution network in the United States. The reduction in force brought the total number of annual em ployees down to 851 from last year’s figure of 1393. Seventy- four hourly positions were abolish ed leaving 600 on the rolls. Mrs. Anne Thompson and daugh ter, Marcine, of North Platte, Nebraska and Mrs. Will Spurr of Scottsbluff, Nebraska are visiting this week at the Harry Eckland home. They are sisters of Mr. Eckland. Going to Portland last Sunday for the Portland open golf tourney were Bud Bush, Kent Bauersfeld, Red Ade, Jack Anderson, Bob King. John Roediger and Ervin Mullins. They also saw the football game that night. Mr. and Mrs. W. M ¡kelson, old time Washington friends of Mrs. A. E. Jennings, now of Empire Oregon, were here Thursday, Aug ust 14 to see Mrs. Jennings for the first time in many years. Visit ing Mrs. Jennings last Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kilby and son of Elsie. Mrs. Ray Robertson entered the Osteopathic hospital last Thurs day for an operation.
