Our Great America ☆ 1 TOPICS OF THE TOWN Frank Kaspar left here last Sunday, April 14 for New York and will leave there for Gold Coast Colony on the west coast of Africa. He has signed for a two-year period there as super intendent for logging operations with mahogany. Leaving for service in Japan April 1 were Lee Engen and Carlin Hackney. Lee had been in the hospital at Camp Beale, Calif., for three weeks following injuries suffered when he was struck by a taxicab in Sacra mento while visiting relatives. McKinnon and daughter of Sandy were here Sunday to visit Mrs. McKinnon’s mother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank McCabe. Mr». Maud Kobow will be away from her clas-es at the Washing ton school, probably for all of this week due to an injury suf fered as the result of a fall at Forest Grove last week, while there attending the music tourna ment. Miss Marion Schwartz was ill last Friday and Monday and was unable to attend classes as was Mrs. Ollie Baker who is suf fering a flu attack this week. Mr. and Mr». Adolph Nel«on were pleasantly surprised Sunday afternoon when Mr. and Mrs. Craig of Hollywood, Calif., drove up for a two-day visit. Mr. and Mrs. Craig and Mr. and Mrs. Nel son were schoolday friends. They enjoyed fishing at Keasey and a trip to Seaside.
