L. Mead and daughter, Ilena, cf Nehalem. Norbert Pelster sold his home place this week to Gregory Nib- bler of Hillsboro. Mr. Nibbier id a nephew of Mrs. Borgelt and is now in the service. Mr. and Mrs. James Walters of Cedar Mills were callers at the J. W. Lindsley home Fri. Miss Dorothy Millis of Port land spent the week end here. Mrs. Noble Dunlap is in the hospital in Portland, having been operated on Fri. and a large tumor removed. She is getting along very nicely. She had been very poorly for quite a while. Her son, Cpl. Floyd Deeds, flew to Portland to be with his moth er at the critical time. He is stationed in Virginia. Mrs. Clara Wikstrom was in the village from Vernonia Sun.
