McKinnon and family of Sandy flew here Sunday from Sandy to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Frank McCabe. The flight here required 25 minutes ad Mr. McKinnon reported in« field in Al condition for plane landings. Grant McCabe returned to Sandy with the McKinnons. Marvin Turner and Jackie Nance have enrolled at Oregon State college at Corvallis for the fall quarter. Both are turning out for football and are listed as members of Lon Stiner’s squad. Home Sold The home on C street owned previously by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thompson Qias been sold, the new owner being Nathaniel Wil son of Redmond. Return from Camp Mr. and Mrs. Otto Michener have returned to their home on Stoney Point after spending the rummer at the Red Hat camp at Old Wilark where Mr. Mich ener was employed as part of the fire protection crew. Move to Yoncalla Mr. and Mrs. Lode McDonald and family planned to leave yes terday, Wednesday, for Yoncalla where they have purchased a farm. The McDonalds have sold their farm on Pebble Creek. THE PAL SHOP Ruby and Ruthy Parcells, twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Parcells, are enrolled in a class which, will give them train ing as cadet nurses. The Parcells formerly resided here where the girls attended school. Another daughter, Ethel, is married and is in Georgia with her husband. Arrive Tuesday Mrs. Pearl McGilvary and son, Howard, of Baton Rouge, Loui siana, who have been here for several weeks visiting friends on the O-A hill, left Tuesday for Portland to stay a short time before returning to their home. Mrs. Chester Phillips and two children arrived here Tuesday evening to visit several days at the Marvin Kamholz home-. Mrs. Phillips is a former Vernonia resident and has made her homo at Weed, California until recent ly when she and Mr. Phillips moved to Estacada where he will be the high school coach this year. Members of the Vernonia Study Club are looking forward to convening again and the first meeting will be held on Thurs day, September 20, at the home of Mrs. Ralph Valpiani. Mrs. H. G. Reunion Held Members of the Otto Michener family enjoyed a family reunion Sunday at their home on Stoney Point. This was the first time all members had been together in five years. Present were, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Michener, Elmer, Delmer, Lynn and Jack Taylor. Parents Better Mrs. Harry Culbertson plans to return here the latter part of this week after spending several weeks at Manning with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Craw ford, who have been convalescing after recent illnesses. Mrs. Lila Conner, who recently sold her home on Cougar street, will go to Manning to care for the Craw fords.
