It’s “Christmas in July,” in which he co-stars with Ellen Drew. It was written and directed by Preston Sturges, who made “The Great McGinty.” “Christmas in July” is a rollick ing comedy of a young chap wait ing to win a national slogan con test before marrying. He gets his hands on a check for $25,000—but not for long. “LADY BE GOOD" SMASH MUSICAL— novel. “Back Street" is the story of a girl who is content to live in the back street of a successful t-ian’a life, demanding nothing but that he love her; helping him to a world-recognized success, while she herself remains in the shadows. Miss Sullavan will be seen as the girl, with Charles Boyer as the man. Others in the cast are Richard Carl son, Frank McHugh, Tim Holt, Sam uel S. Hinds and Frank Jenks. DEFENSE SECRET THEME OF THRILLER— The world’s most closely guarded military secret, the United States Army’s famous Norden bomb-sight, was the inspiration for Paramount’s latest thrill drama of the air, “Fly ing Blind." In "Flying Blind” a group of foreign agents, aided by a rene gade airlines pilot, attempts to steal' a vital piece of secret ap paratus from a new Army bombing plane. Naturally their efforts come to naught but their attempt pro vide^ the thrills in one of the most exciting of a long line of aviation pictures.
