Loggers Lose Prineville Game I « The Vernonia Loggers met their first defeat of the 1941 football season and lost their record of hav ing no scores made against them so far this year in their game with Prineville last Friday afternoon on the Prineville field. Prineville started a scoring drive early in the game, running up a score of 13 by two touchdowns be- f >re the close of the first quarter. Vernonia wrs able to make good yardage but not of a sufficient amount to reach scoring territory. Prineville’s passing was responsible fnr their second score in the per- iod. The Loggers retrenched them- selves somewhat in the second per- iod when Culbertson broke away on a play through Prineville’s line to score. The trv for point was good. That quarter ended with Prineville 13, Vernonia 7. Again in the third period Cub hertson scored af’er breaking to freedom and running for about 50 vards.
