Young Men Join Artillery TIMBER—(Special to The Eagle) —Wauneta STainwood of Wheeler spent from Wednesday until Sun day at the Ida Kilburg home. The loggers are all «forking “Hoot Owl” shift, Sunset Loggers commencing Tuesday morning. Robert Hensley, Jr. and Tom Ramsey joined the 99th Field Artil lery Headquarter Battery, and were taken to Fort Lewis Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kirk were saddened Friday when the news reached here of the death of Mr. Kirk’s sister and brother-in-law, the sister being instantly killed and her husband passing away Saturday from injuries in an automobile wreck at Dunsmuir, California. They were on their way to a family re union at Albany, Oregon. Betty Jean Warner of Vernonia spent, several days last week with Zona Lee Bonnell. At the annual school board meet ing held at the school house Mon day night, Preston Bonnell was elected director and Mrs. Olive Brown, clerk. Miss Helen Blanchard last week at the C. P.
