NEW STAGE LINE—The Pick wick stages are planning on running a stage down the Lower Columbia river highway, beginning the 15th of June, according to reports states the Clatskanie Chief. RESUMES AFTER BREAKDOWN —The Menefee mill at Rainier lias resumed operation after a forced breakdown that occurred a week ago when the entire conveyor crashed to the ground. The whole structure had to be rebuilt. VAULTIN G PARSON — Ralph Spearow, former pastor of the Con gregational church at St. Helens wa high point winner for the Multnomah club at Eugene, winning the pole vault and broad jump and tieing for first in the high jump. WARREN MAN CONVICTED—A verdict of guilty was returned in the case of Erick Mattson, Warren, whi has been on trial in the circuit court in St. Helens on a statutory charge, Judge Eakin fixed Mattson’s bail at $5000 pending an appeal. INCREASES STAFF—St. Helen looks for the largest enrollment yet when the fall term comences next September and for this reason thi school beard has hired two additional teachers.
