t < k as JOHN GOTTFRIED WEBER t? 1 • I * > F » * ’i John Gottfried Weber was born in Berne, Switzerland, March 12, 1877 and died in Tillamook, Ore., Oct. 12 1821 aged 44 years and 7 months. The deceased came to Amelia about 27 years ago. making his home during his residence here in Humboldt. Calif. After about 5 years residence in America, he visited his old home in Switzerland, when after a few months stay, he returned to the United States. During the next few years he visited hts native country again, returning to America. He then came to Tillamook coun ty, where he has followed farming for the past 17 years. For the past 12 years he has resided in Riverdale four miles north of Tillamook. Deceased was a man of rugged strength, and had only been sick a short time when he was stricken with appendicitis, and died on Octo- ber 12th, as above stated. Deceased is survived by his wife and one sister, the latter a resident of Lenox, Mass., one brother in St. Paul, Minn., and two brothers who are still residents of Switzerland. He was confirmed and brought up in the German Reformed church, and was a good citizen of the land of his adoption; was honeBt and up right in his dealings, and will be sorely missed by hie wife and broth ers and sisters, as well as by his neighbors and friends. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at one o'clock p. m. Friday, the pastor, Rev. C. L. Dark officiating. Interment was in the Odd Fellows cemetery near this place. C. L. Boyd Mendenhall was called to Sheridan this week by the illness of his father, Reece Mendenhall, who suffered a stroke of paralysis. Mr. Mendenhall was one of the pioneer merchants of the Sheridan section for many years and was prominent in the affairs of the town. He was so much Improved that his son has returned to Tillamook.
