first congressional district, paid Tilla­
mook county a visit last week. He came
in on Friday evening over the Wilson
river. Saturday morning he visited a

stein cows. In the afternoon the Port of
Tillamook took exclusive charge of Mr.
Hawlev, and with Captain Groat, who
is in charge of the government work.

the proposed improvement of Hoquar-
ton slough as planned by the govern­
ment engineers, and also pointed out the
need of bar improvements The congress­
man suggested several procedures which

these projects could be sanctioned or car

no project under construction in Tilla­
mook at the present time. Mr. Hawley
told the Port that it was his intention of
entering a vigorous protest to Captain
Mclndoe's adverse report as to the im­
provement of Tillamook bar.
