TILLAMOOK HEADLIGHT, SEPTEMBER ajSOg- heads'' who have recently come to this I Editorial Snap Shots. That smile on M. F. Leach’s face stays their all the time » M * That must Lave brrn a "pinheaded” niuu in the ' special interests'' print shop on Monday. « « « Wonder whether that chicken dinner • t Hoskins' had anything to do with tbe railroad starting up ? * « * a « « It is geuerallv thought in Tillamook t lat owing to Hill's representative rub. her necking in this county that it caused Harriman to get busy. W <r * Tillamook City is getting lousy—no, not exactly that, but there's a whole raft of lousy dogs in town that need killing off before they are chewed up. » * * Don't be in too much of a hutry getting excited over the railroad news. Suppose Mr. Harriman should get cold feet or that Mr. Bryan should be elected. « « a We fail to see why there should be anv opposition to another telephone com pane. .Surelv the mo upoly of (he trans portation business is a good criterion to judge from. MW* city and are playing the role of dictators. The public can see this and so can the dairymen. One thing is certain, the bust ness end ol the cheese factories which Mr. Haberlach represent have been run with success and the greatest profit to the dairymen in the history of the count), and. further, the dairymen are perfectly well satisfied, for they know perfectly well that they are getting what the;, entitled to—all there is in it. Somehow the cheese factory reports for 1907, put into a concise form and pub lished by the Headlight, is looked upon as advertising matter instead of actual facts. For instance, this is a letter ad dressed to the Maple Leaf Creamery : 1 am thinking of going to Oregon to locate in the near future and 1 am trying to get the best and the most reliable in formation possible as to location and chances for going into the dairv busi nets ' I just received a pamphlet from Ralph Ackley, of Portland, on Tillamook County and its resources, and especially its dairying, and on one paie it gives a ■ able of the prices paid lor buite. tat hv your creamery or faitotv, and also two others, ihe Keil Clover and Maple Le d factorivs. Ii also give» a report ol Mr >V B Alderman, who takes cream to v<’or factory. He mu it br-mght him 82.385 96 Irom 21 cows in 1907. that is prettv big figures although it is quite possible, but I don't go much on these advertising pamphlets sent out. What is the use of publishing facts J I GOOD ROADS MEETING. A Good Roads Conference will be held at the Court House, ON FRIDA Y, SEPT. 4, 1908, Morning and Afternoon. Under the Direction of the Oregon Good Roads Conference. PROMINENT SPEAKERS and Road Workers will be present and give us the benefit of the latest ideas and methods along the line of good roads.
