TO COST FOUR MILLIONS "We will resume work at both ends of the line," said Mr.Lytle yesterday. Much can be accomplished before heavy rains set in, particularly if we have a late Fall. At the Hillsboro end of the road, I8V1 miles is in opera tion and 4 Ju miles additional of grading has been done. Over a mile of track has been laid at the Tillamook end and three miles and a halt more has been graded. A tunnel 300 feet long has been half com pleted at the Tillamook end of the road and a 1400 foot tunnel beyond Buxton on the Hillsboro end has been 95 per cent finished^ Construction of the road was started in October. 1905. and was kept up stead, ily until last November, when work was stopped liecause of the financial strin gency. The project was originally that of Mr. Lvtle, and the Harriman interests acquired it at a late date. Mr. Lytle, however, still interested in the road, continues its president. FACTS ABOUT THE ROAD.
