TILLAMOOK HEADLIGHT, DECEMBER 6. 1906. Editorial Snap Shots. The city election passed off quietly, and for a wonder no one appears to have a sore spot or a grude cither. * * * fj“Let’s see !” said the blind man. We seem to remember several little incidents some time ago of an attempt to start a National bank in Tillamook and that Uncle Sam clubbed it to death with the big stick. » If knocking at this stage of the game he ought to be kicking himself for allowing others to get the best of a deal. He even questions whether the Lytle road will be built. That would be a great disap. point to Tillamook, for there is no telling what will nnd v.’hat won’t happen when the big railway magnates commence bluffing one another. There is no occa sion to fear, however, Tillamook is going to have railtoad. , * * * It cost the town of Seaside more for city printing during the past year, than in any live years of its history combined. The printing graft was unauthorized by the town charter, and this is one reason the Seaside Signal is supporting the mossbuclc ticket, in order to get its mit into the city sack, without which, the Signal would be today sleeping the sleep that knows no awakening. The people of Seaside have become tired of paying these excessive printing bills ami will vote against the Warson Mossback ticket. Every honest citizen ought to. No n an lias any right to use his official position, to secure printing that the charter does not authorize and for which outrageous charges were made—Astoria Herald. The Watson-.Mossback party was de feated. HEMLOCK It seems as if Jack Frost is not a very welcome visitor among the Tillamookers as they are all webfoots and like tlie rain better. Grandpa Bunn is no better. Lee Lyster is the proud owner of a new buggy. Mr. Dunson and family, of Beaver, visited Mr. and Mrs. Dawson, of Hem lock. Saturday. A lew of the parents met at the Hem lock school house Thanksgiving and had a basket dinner, in the afternoon, an* excellent program was rendered, which seemed to please the visitois, and all report a jolly time. Lee Lyster’s graphaphone furnished some good music. Arrivals at Allen House. Friday.—John McGilhery. Portland; IL H. Watkins. Forest Groye; Dan Fletcher, Cloverdale; E. Atkinson, Sand lake.
