Then it was learned that Johnson had employed his hour butting his head vigorously against a wall to raise a bump large enough to admit him to the service. ‘'We were at the semi-centennial at Al gona,” observes the Algona (la.) We registered, we ate barbecued steer, we listened to all of the addresses, saw and heard the melo deon that has done service for forty eight vears. The man was frightened, but she was not for she threw her arms around his neck and yelled lustily. The burglar fought desperately, but the women could not be shaken off. Her cries aroused her hus band, who came to her assistance armed with a shotgut. Two of Mrs. Wedern’s prisoner’s companions, who had been at work in another part of the house, rushed into the house and attacked Wed ern before he could use his weapon. They beat him into insensibility and made their escape, Mrs. Wedern held onto the one she had, however, and finally succeeded in throwing him down and sitting on him. Out of the Ordinary.
