W Phelps returned from San Francisco, Cal., a few days ago, where he had been with his son, Marion, who has enlisted on the training ship Pensa cola as an apprentice and is attending the Military school on Goat Island in San Francisco Bav. Marvine Cone is working at Cape Meares Light-house helping put in the water pipe. They are putting in 1400 feet of pipe. Robt Eichinger was down Sunday from the lighthouse, where he is at work help ing put in the new water system and making other improvements. C. B. Wiley was over from the Sand Spit Saturday- Geo Coffman has been camping up at Whisky Creek for the past three weeks trapping for bear, but bruin is too sharp to be caught napping when there are so many salmon to be had for gath ering.
